The Anugon Legend

Over a millennium ago, the six races decided to unite for the good of all. The best method of doing this was decided to be the creation of leaders and protectors, one from each race. To further this, each would use a weapon created by another race, to be a symbol of the bonds and covenants created.

Each race had a different level of oneness with magic force, the strongest of these the Gahel. The Gahel were creatures of the ethereal, and were fond of lightning. They created the Blade of Shadows, a two-and-a-half handed sword that was not only powerful, but gave the user enhanced speed and the ability to control the weather. This sword was given to the Human Protector, named Erek.

The next race, the Dragons, created a sword to reflect their dominance of the sky by basing it on the most powerful object in the heavens. It was called the SunBlade. This longsword was of very intricate design, and gave the holder a strength great enough to overpower any opponent. Also, rumour spread that the holder, with diligence, could through flames. SunBlade was given to the Jeman Protector, Galezon.

The Elves made a golden shortsword. This gleaming blade was by far the most beautiful of all the swords. Symbols and magic writings ran down the blade, and black leather strips were laced down the handle. Enchanted to make it light enough to carry and fight with, the weapon gave the user the ability to surprise any enemy, and not be ambushed. If the user had enough focus, they also were able to fly. This sword was given to the Dragon, Fawutol.

The Jeman strove to outdo all the others with beauty and viciousness in the creation of their sword. By doing this, they created the first Scimitar, which they modeled all of their footsoldiers weapons on from then on. This scimitar contained the power of water, and was called the MoonBlade. Contained in this sword was the enhancement of stealth, allowing the holder to pass through scenes unnoticed by anyone. Power over temperature was also bestowed on the holder of this sword. The first holder was Elarz, a noble Gahel.

The Humans, always awed by the Gahel's creations, created a two-and-a half handed sword, completely ivory-white, with a blade that was pure and unscathed, but runes were imprinted in the golden tanned leather wrapped around the handle. Within this weapon was the power of Nature. The Blade of Light, as it was titled, also imbued the carrier with the power to heal, and to poison. This sword was entrusted with the first Dwarven Protector, Rayen.

The Dwarves forged a broadsword that was strengthened by the power of their bones, the Earth. This NormalBlade was supposed to give the holder wisdom and strength to defend his or herself against foe. This was given to the Elvish protector, Stajev.

These six protectors took a magical oath to protect the six races under one banner. They swore to keep the peace, and not let their power be their downfall; and for a time, it was so...

What is a "two and a half sword"? Is it a measurement of length?

Watch out for correctly spelled wrong words.

It sounds like each sword is trying to out do the other. Is one really supposed to be better than the other, or is it simply a reflection of the underlying conflict between all of the races?

Oops. That definitely was a two-and-a-half handed sword. Fixed that. As for the other point, the answer is yes. The races, even in their moment of the most unity, were still trying to show that if judged seperately, they were the best. The result is that these six swords came out even, and it was more the character of the holders that made the discernment of power and leadership within the holders.
