Throne Room

Miashgon quietly entered the banquet hall half an hour later. He had quickly gone upstairs and changed from the leather armor to a nice set of black silk clothes. He looked around at the guests, both familiar and unfamiliar. Apparently Miashgon's father had anticipated the extra hundred guests, because more food and tables had been prepared. Jarel Lxotu and Rawel Jiponte were talking and laughing together at the head of the table.

Right inside the doors, Xavier was waitng. "You ready to go?" he muttered, as he stepped out into the hallway.

"Yeah," and within a minute the two boys were headed down the hall. "Where did you want to go?"

"You're the one that lives in this castle, what is there to do?"

"Out back there's an archery and sword grounds. We've got two libraries, one on the first and second levels. The third level is mostly chambers, plus a few little rooms. The council room is on the first floor, just down this hall. The throne room is on the second floor, facing the west wall-"

"The throne room. Let's go there."

"Why? It's just a boring old room with a throne in it. It's only used for regal goings on. Official decrees, political meetings, and coronations."

"Right. That's what makes it interesting. No one goes in there, its the perfect place to hide something."

"I'm sure there's nothing in there."

"Probably not, but it will be fun to check."

They walked up a flight of stairs and down a long hallway. When they got to an ornate set of doors, Miashgon pulled on them. They didn't move. "Locked."

Xavier stepped up to them. His hand pressed up against the lock and he quietly said '.' The doors slid open, and Xavier smiled, "I love magic."

They stepped inside, and Miashgon whispered 'ja.' The lights in the room suddenly came to life, and they were facing the throne.

Although the chair was large, it looked as if it would be comfortable for any sized man. There were ornate decorations all over it, including the head of a falcon on the left armrest, and a panther on the right one. They walked to the back of it, and runes were inscribed there.

"Woah. I never realized how many protections were put on this throne!" Miashgon said, "I haven't been in here since the last official royal decree, about three years ago."

"Yeah. Our throne has runes on the back, but not nearly this many." He ran his fingers over them, "Look at this, protection over the King from coronation to resignation. This is amazing, all six elements are used. Someone powerful must have created this. I wonder who it was."

Miashgon looked at the runes as well, With a spell this powerful, they probably bound their name to it somewhere."

"Right, and the best place is where it can be seen, but no one would look," Xavier looked underneath the seat, "Mijo Ja Pounte!"

"Woah. That means this seat was created by the first King of Enur."

"Yeah, Rijero kept it when Ashgor split off I guess. This is cool. Very cool."

Miashgon nodded, "Yeah, amazing."

Xavier stood, "Well, I think the throne room has been thoroughly explored. Not much in here besides this chair. Where shall we head next?"

Miashgon thought, "Follow me, first floor."

They spent an hour traversing the castle, and then reentered the banquet. Not one person had noticed their absence.
